Protected by more than 20 Patent Claims
Invented by a firefighter to save lives, we set out to improve the performance of emergency lighting. When we were done, we actually re-invented the field by introducing the first emergency light to perform long after smoke from a fire blocks out other designs. The distuptive product design makes SentryLight the world's first emergency light with UL-924 approval for installation at any height, even below the smoke from a fire. Over four years in development, the design received U.S. patent approval for its unique intellectual property in 2007. Patent protection has been filed in an additional 36 countries.
SentryLight design surpasses conventional "bug-eye" designs by providing an aesthetic solution for architects, a reliable solution for engineers, and an affordable solution for building owners. Of course, building occupants are provided more footcandles on the floor (recommended installation height is 42"... placing more light where it's needed) and longer illumination time on egress paths, saving lives.
The unique design of the faceplate, the screw-drive delivery of the lamp and lens configuration, as well as many of the critical components needed to develop a vandal-resistant, Americans-with-Disabilities-Act compliant design makes this the world's safest emergency light. Lower installation heights mean that EgressLite emergency lighting continues to provide bright, even illumination after smoke from a fire blocks out the light from conventional heights near or in the celing.
Coupled with the lengthy testing required for UL 924 approval applied to emergency lighting equipment, SentryLight's reliability is already proven with installations in twelve countries.
Deploying The Latest Marketing Strategies
To secure orders in twelve countries around the world, SentryLight is deploying sophisticated direct marketing strategies that target Architects, Lighting Designers, Construction Companies, and Electrical Distributors. The approach optimizes the intersection of three disciplines: Direct Marketing, Database Management, and Behavioral Sciences. Through this approach, emails, postcards, and dimensional packages can be sent directly to the purchase decision makers at the specific time that design specifications are being made. Communication maps addressing the benefits of EgressLite's innovative design are overlayed with specific barriers to adopting new product designs for each audience through a messaging matrix. Incentives are then used to motivate the audience to identify themselves... a FREE AIA Certified Course required to maintain their licenxe, for example, upon completing the form.
Under the consultation of Mr. Lilien, SentryLight's Chief Marketing Officer, this marketing approach was successfully deployed by one of the world's largest manufacturers of cell phones, scanning, and wireless router devices in Europe, Asia, North America, and Eastern Europe.
Sales are conducted through a combination of OEM relationships, specification by Architects and Lighting Designers, sales through manufacturer’s representatives and electrical distributors, and direct sales through Google Adwords.
Mission Statement
SentryLight is solely focused on the worldwide penetration of EgressLite emergency lighting into the commercial and residential building markets. With its innovative design, EgressLite is the world’s first compact, recessed emergency lighting that is UL approved for installation at any height. Deploying smoke piercing Xenon lamps at the right height provides the proper lighting to assist occupants in their safe egress in case of a fire. The design is simple: it’s invisible until needed.
Commitment To The Environment
SentryLight is deeply committed to the renewable resources of the planet. Beyond selection of batteries that subscribe to the international recycling program, and by using post-consumer waste paper products in it’s packaging and avoiding non-recyclable Styrofoam packaging, SentryLight will continue to look for ways to contribute to environmentally friendly processes.
The SentryLight Opportunity
From time to time, products come along that are significantly different from those that have gone before them. Disruptive by design, these products have the potential to forever change the way we look at our common, everyday experience. In what has been a commodity marketplace, the reaction to the introduction of EgressLite has shown that this patented design will take a strong market position and have a big impact on the specifying and purchasing decisions made by Architects, Lighting Designers, Builders, and Interior Designers.
Praise From the Building Industry
SentryLight was featured as one of the best new products of the year on HGTV’s International Builder’s Show (seen by over 40 million people in the U.S. and abroad). Scott Morgan, HGTV host of the International Home Builders Show, is shown here demonstrating the wall of SentryLights that include standard color, painted and wallpapered units. One of the effects this has had is the instant recognition of the concept at trade shows and among the primary target audiences: Architects, Lighting Specifiers, and Building Managers.
